Frequently Asked Questions
We do have a 5 year warranty. The warranty does not cover wear and tear, but we do guarantee the product will not peel or fade. If you have any issues or are unsure if your product is covered, simply send us some pictures by email. In the worst case if there are issues not covered under warranty, they can often be fixed for a very nominal fee.
Unfortunately customers cannot install decorastone. It’s a highly specialized product requiring special UV curing equipment that costs thousands of dollars.
The average kitchen costs $1150 plus tax, but does vary by size. Small kitchens can be as little as $600 and very large ones can be $1400.
Calgary Countertops specializes in resurfacing and installs a product called decorastone directly to your existing countertop. Sink removal is not required, tiles are not disturbed, no fuss/mess or hassle and is a fraction of the cost of replacement.
We currently service Calgary, Red Deer, Okotoks, Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere, High River, Nanton, Lethbridge as well as many other areas.
Most kitchens take one day to complete, however large or complicated ones may require a second day.
Countertops that have damage can be repaired. Burns, bad seams, water damaged, loose laminate, etc. can all be fixed prior to resurfacing.
Your countertop can be used immediately! Our product decorastone is not a paint. It does not need to dry. It’s an industrial liquid that is cured with a UV light and immediately hardened.
Since we are not removing your countertop your existing tiles can remain safely in place.
There is an odour during the resurfacing process but does depends on the amount of repairs. Most odours gone 2-3 hours afterwards and next day most customers usually cannot notice anything.
The product AND the process is environmental friendly! We are keeping your existing countertop out of the landfill, plus most of our products are low VOC and solvent free.
Calgary Countertops has been resurfacing countertops since 2004
Yes! The best place to view customer feedback is on the following websites:
We typically resurface laminate countertops, ceramic tile and cultured marble.
Our product does not contain any stone. We do have patterns that mimic stone or quartz and because there are no laminate lines or seams, they give the illusion of a solid surface.
Yes! Please contact us for a free in-home quotation
It is possible for us to resurface both surfaces however we do not resurface Corian kitchen sinks.
We typically resurface the wood trim, although it’s not necessary. There is a small charge to cover the wood trim as it requires more time to prepare, however most customers get this done to get the look of stone.
Most of our customers are simply hiring us to recolor their existing countertop. While it is difficult to add to your existing countertop, it is not impossible. Please book an in-home consultation and we can better discuss your specific situation.
Nothing! During your estimate we will explain the product, durability, show color samples and provide you a firm price to help you with your renovation decision.
Calgary Countertops’ applies a product called decorastone which is not available at the box stores. The DIY products are designed to be easily applied and are not UV curable. Our UV curable product is much more durable and ready to use immediately. In addition we do the installation and cover it with 5 year warranty.
At this time Calgary Countertops does not take deposits.
We do not charge for estimates.
We do not have showroom. Most customers want to see product samples in their home with their cabinets, floor, light, etc. We must also view your countertop in order to provide an accurate price quote.
We do have promotions from time to time. Please check our promotions page or follow us on social media.
Calgary Countertops appreciate and depend on referrals but at the moment do not offer rewards to customers that promote our product. We do however try to earn you referral in advance with good work and excellent service!
Our product – decorastone – is often much less expensive, looks better and does not lead to other renovation work such as new tile, new drywall, new sink, etc. Calgary Countertops gives you a new look in one day without the hassle of a large renovation.
We accept cash, visa, mastercard, paypal, cheque and interac e-transfers.
We do take care to cover your cabinets and floors. If our decorastone does accidentally get in an area we don’t intend, in most cases we are able to clean it up with no damage.
We also offer a low gloss finish.
Please view our gallery page to view the available colors or call for an in-home visit to view actual samples. Our patterns are quite similar but we offer a wide variety of colors.
You do not need to be home during the installation of decorastone, our installers often work alone. As long as we have access to your house and water (for cleaning) we do not require you stay home.
You do not need to remove your faucets, however if we go around them they are more difficult to replace later. You would need to get a faucet with a larger base, not smaller.
At this time it is not recommended to convert to an undermount sink.
Approx 70% of our customers leave their sink in place, removal is not required. However if you want a new sink it’s best to do the upgrade at the same time. If you leave your sink in and want to change it in the future it’s possible, but you’ll need a sink with a bigger ‘lip’ so the old countertop will be visible.
Our product is seamless. Existing seams will be filled with a special filler turning your countertop into a single surface. If your seams are bubbled we’ll cut out and remove the bubbled area.
We do installations on weekdays, but weekends are sometimes possible for businesses and offices when required. In this situation extra charges would apply.
Our product has similar features to laminate. It is rated to approx 300F. Customers should use pads underneath hot pots and cutting boards under knives. In sinks, showers and bathtubs ensure faucets are not leaking as the product does not like to be wet 24/7.
Yes! Our product can be repair and restored to new for very little cost.
You would want to treat our product the same way as laminate. Pads under hot pots, cutting boards under knives.
